Foster Family and Adoption Agency:  McKinley Children’s Center Foster Care and Adoption Agency serves the surrounding counties of Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. Our team of professionals work diligently to find, educate, and support resource families and foster children in the surrounding areas. Many of our team members come from the communities we serve in order to better understand their community’s needs.

Short-Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP): The McKinley Children’s Center Residential Treatment Program assists boys that range in age from 10-18 and older boys who are Non-minor dependents (NMD’s) by providing for their physical, emotional, educational, and social needs. Professional staff, skilled in a variety of methods, provide individual, group, and family treatment, and recreational activities. The treatment center offers a multi-disciplinary approach to address complex issues with the goal of reuniting the boys with their families or transitioning them to foster care or independent living.

Non-Public Schools:  Canyon View School (CVS) and Desert View
School (DVS) are non-public schools operated by McKinley Children’s Center. We work with school districts to provide special education services to their most challenging students. Oftentimes, the students referred to us are significantly behind in their academics and have experienced behavioral issues such as truancy, fighting, self-harm, and substance
use. Educational services at our schools are provided in a school setting that promotes learning. Our school sites features low student-to-teacher ratios, behavioral counselors, mental health therapists, and support teams. We also have a team of dedicated drivers who provide door-to-door transportation, which helps to bring students to school and increases their opportunities for learning. The goal for our school sites is to develop an individualized learning experience for each student so that they can achieve their educational goals. For many of our students, successful transitioning back to their original school is a primary focus.\
